**This notice does not apply to "Simple Method" (embedded) users and all "STW Certified" plugins, modules, etc, should be unaffected by this change.

On 04/20/2016 at 08:38 GMT, I modified the "Advanced Method" API download script (xian) to more accurately validate the &stwxmax parameter that is being sent with the download request. This was basically just closing a loophole, and everyone "should" be making a request to the main script (xino) first. That will provide the correct download URL. Those who bypass that part of the process may run into issues.

It takes a good bit of effort to bypass that process, so if you didn't intentionally work to bypass it; then you likely won't have any trouble.

The error associated with this change is: "Invalid HASH passed in Xian request."

I usually post changes that could affect users. However, in this case, I didn't post a notice because I didn't see any reason someone would legimately send the wrong stwxmax, since the API should be providing the download URL. I suppose there are so many ways that someone could implement the service that we should not rule anything out or take it for granted. Since a user reported having issues, suggested I make an announcement, and I saw that a dozen other people were also doing the same thing; an announcement is probably warranted.

If anyone has any issues as a result of this change, please do let us know. We can help you pinpoint the cause and get you back up-and-running quickly.

Best regards,
